People think it’s funny to comment on the difference in Ron and Hermione’s job positions.
“What did you do to convince the smartest witch of the age to marry you” they’d say to Ron as he worked behind the counter at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.
“How do you put up with someone who can’t possibly keep up with your intellect?” awed colleagues would say to Hermione as they left a heated debate at the Wizengomot.
Ron would blush and say “I don’t have a clue, mate,” and mean it.
Hermione would redden in fury and demand if her colleagues knew anyone else who could beat Minerva McGonagall at age 11 or the last time they’d destroyed a horcrux or why a joke shop was able to stand up to the Darkest Wizard of all time when the entire Ministry of Magic crumbled like a house of cards.
Neither of them would say anything about these conversations when they got home. Instead, Hermione would talk through her latest ideas for the new House Elf Protection act while Ron made dinner. Ron would ask for advice on the latest product he and George were developing, and they’d both roll their eyes over the latest Rita Skeeter article claiming that one or both of them was having an affair with Harry.
At first, when Ron’s job change came out in fandom, I was sad that I was losing badass Auror Ron. Now, I love it so much more that he runs the shop with George. I love that his wit and humor are his living. I love that he doesn’t have to prove anything to himself or to Hermione, anymore… not that he ever had to prove anything to her to begin with, but his insecurities and jealousies made him think he did. It honestly solidifies his relationship with her that much more to me. And it makes him a stronger, more confident person to be satisfied with doing something he loves, with family, rather than aligning with Harry’s path out of obligation or even loyalty, to a degree.
It’s beautiful and perfect and I love him.
I obviously wanted to do a One Direction song, and I was literally sitting and going through - you know, ‘cause I wrote quite a few of them, so I was able to like - I know the songs inside out, obviously, so I was going through - I literally sat there with the albums in front of me and went through them all, and in fact I think Fool’s Gold is my favourite One Direction song, so that’s why I wanted to do it. And also it’s a good opportunity for me to just stand there with an acoustic guitar and play, and - maybe next time I’ll do something different, but for this one I just wanted to touch on it a little bit.
Spot the difference

Ron and Hermione had just turned up in the common room, pink-faced from the cold wind and looking as though they’d had the time of their lives.
Harry headed straight back to the Gryffindor common room, where he found Ron and Hermione playing chess.
As far as Harry could tell from the vague hints in their letters, Hermione and Ron were in the same place, presumably at Ron’s parents’ house. He could hardly bear to think of the pair of them having fun at The Burrow when he was stuck in Privet Drive.
“We’d’ve come to meet you, but we decided to get started on the Polyjuice Potion,” Ron explained as Harry, with difficulty, locked the stall again. “We’ve decided this is the safest place to hide it.”
They were there, both of them, sitting outside Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor — Ron looking incredibly freckly, Hermione very brown, both waving frantically at him.

On the Saturday morning of the Hogsmeade trip,
Harry bid good-bye to Ron and Hermione, who were wrapped in cloaks and scarves,
then turned up the marble staircase alone, and headed back toward Gryffindor

He liked it best when he was with Ron and Hermione and they were talking about other things, or else letting him sit in silence while they played chess.
He returned to the common room half an hour later to find Ron and Hermione in the best seats by the fire; nearly everybody else had gone to bed.
As Harry walked onto the field, he saw Ron and
